Heat can come from the sun’s rays

I love the sun’s heat

 

My town is Ascutney, Vermont.  It was given this name because of Mt. Ascutney.  It began in 1761 and 1851.  It is 164 years old now.  Something I know about my town long ago is that it was called Ascutneyville first.

My family came to my town in 2005.  We have lived here for 9 years.  Some changes I have seen while I’ve been living there are that a new school was built.  A new pastor came to church.  Some changes I think the town might make in the next twenty years are to build a new town office and elect a new manager.

Do you ever wonder how Ascutney, Vermont, came to be Ascutney, Vermont?  Well, that’s where my story starts.  Before Ascutney, Vermont, was Ascutney, Vermont, it was Ascutneyville because there was a post office that was called Ascutneyville.  Then the people thought it would be a good idea to call the town Ascutneyville too.  Then a few years later, the people though it was a good idea to name the town Ascutney.  That’s how this town became Ascutney, Vermont.  I am happy they thought of that. Aren’t you?  Now our family lives here.
