I’m from sledding in the crispy moonlight.

I’m from hearing the sound of the rushing river.

I’m from skiing down the giant hill

And rollerskating with friends.

I’m from tacos on Tuesday,

Grass after it rains.

I’m from, “Clean your room!”

And, “Don’t break it!”

I’m a Vermont girl.

 

I’m from lots and lots of books.

I’m from reading and math,

Singing and dancing.

I’m from bright Christmas trees.

I’m from building forts with my brother,

Riding my bike down my hill,

And playing soccer.

I’m from swimming!

I’m from the smell of my mom’s cake after she makes it.

I’m from hot cocoa on a winter day.

I’m a rivery, mountainy Vermont girl!
